Brewing Process

This is the process whereby we turn hops, malt, yeast and water into the wonderful beverage we know as beer.

The room fills with steam as the hot liquor pours in to the mash tun. The bags of malt in the foreground are waiting to be poured in to be mixed and stirred and left to brew until the wonderful mixture, now called wort, is ready.

The wort is transferred from the mash tun to the copper where the first lot of hops is added and the whole lot is boiled up.

Once all is deemed ready the brew is then transferred to the FV tanks where it sits for several days fermenting and letting the yeast do its job.

After several days in the FV tank the brew is ready to be put into the casks, a process known as racking.

The casks are then stored in the cold store where they settle until they are despatched.
